Joseph Witkowski
Joseph Witkowski has been serving in law enforcement for 28 years. He began his career with the New Haven Police Department in New Haven, CT. Joe served as a patrol officer, field training officer, academy instructor, patrol supervisor, traffic commander, district manager, and director of planning, retiring with the rank of Captain. After retiring Joe then assumed the role of Academy Director for the MPTC Western Massachusetts Police Academy for over six years, graduating 11 recruit officer classes. Joe will be one of the trainers teaching Mental Health First Aid for public safety classes for the Western Mass CIT-TTAC.
Sergeant Michael Pollender
Sergeant Michael Pollender is a 22 year veteran of the South Hadley Police Department. He is currently assigned as the Law Enforcement Supervisor to both the South Hadley Police Department's Crisis Intervention Team as well as providing supervision to the Western Mass CIT-TTAC.
Officer Wallace
Officer Wallace has been working with the Northampton Police Department since May of 2008. He is currently a Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, and an FBI-certified Crisis negotiator.
Officer Wallace recently completed a graduate certificate course in Crisis Response and Behavioral Health at William James College.
He is the handler for the department's comfort dog "Douglas" and a member of the Western Massachusetts Critical Incident Stress Management Response Team.
Officer Wallace and Douglas are members of K9 First Responders, a national trauma K9 response team, recent deployments have been for Officer funerals and to Washington DC for support of the US Capitol Police following January 6th.
Carolyn St. Andre
Carolyn St. Andre is the Administrative and Technical Specialist for the Western Mass CIT-TTAC, with her Bachelor’s degree in Toxicology and Criminal Justice from Northeastern University. Carolyn began her exposure to the field of law enforcement as an intern with the Boston Police Crime Lab and then at South Hadley Police Department as a dispatcher. Carolyn shifted towards medical research, and has been with the Mandell Center for Multiple Sclerosis in Hartford, CT for 12 years. Her research focus is in medical record abstraction and data management.
Monica Bellucci
Monica Bellucci is the clinical coordinator for the Western Mass CIT-TTAC. Monica is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in trauma & trauma informed treatment. She has worked in disaster relief, crisis, hospitals and special education school settings specializing in social emotional and behavioral youths, developmental delays populations. Throughout her years of work experience and across all different populations and demographics she has focused on working with individuals in acute situations to de-escalate, communicate and connect to help ensure individuals feelings of safety and increase the likelihood of success and compliance.
